Position Description

An opportunity for a skilled perioperative registered nurse with CVOR and EVH experience is available in Kilgore, TX. This contract position involves working Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, providing comprehensive intraoperative support across circulating, scrubbing, and first assist roles within the cardiovascular operating room team.

The role focuses on collaborating closely with surgeons and healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient outcomes in complex surgical settings. Responsibilities include managing patient care through thorough assessments, maintaining strict sterile conditions using aseptic principles, performing accurate surgical counts, administering medications, and operating specialized surgical equipment safely. The position also requires delegation where appropriate, patient and family education, and active participation in safety protocols such as the Universal Protocol/Time-Out process.

Key Qualifications And Desired Expertise

  • Completion of an RN First Assistant program accredited by AORN and recognized by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI)
  • Minimum of 5 years' operating room experience encompassing scrubbing and circulating roles, with specific prior CVOR experience
  • Current Texas RN license or compact license eligibility
  • BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
  • CNOR certification indicating specialized perioperative nursing knowledge

The shift schedule offers consistency with weekdays and daytime hours, supporting work-life balance and predictability. This contract opportunity requires credentialing that may take up to 90 days.
