Registered Nurse (RN) Antepartum

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75093

Work hours: Full Time, 36 hours, 7:00pm – 7:00am

Antepartum Department Highlights

  • 20 bed High-Risk OB unit
  • Provide care for and monitoring of patients in Antepartum, High-Risk OB, GYN surgery, all female surgeries and Postpartum moms who have babies in the Level IV NICU
  • Responsible for 24-hour care of non-laboring Antepartum and GYN patients

Here’s What You Need

  • Diploma in Nursing or
  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • BSN preferred
  • Other – CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • One year of Antepartum experience strongly preferred
  • One year of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required and
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly and
  • NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required and
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required and
  • IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring upon hire preferred and
  • CPI – Crises Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required

What You Will Do

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
