Possible Nursing Resources for Loan Repayment Programs
- National Health Services Corps (NHSC) Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
- The deadline for this program was 1/27/2022—but it has been extended to 2/3/2022
- This is for Nurses who have a degree and paying the debt for that nursing degree
- The individual must work for an organization that is a Qualified Employer
- U.S. federal, state, local or tribal government or Not-for-profit organization 501(c)(3)
- The organization must be registered site, Children’s Health is and I am the Administrator for our site. Most site are administrated by HR and a nurse leader of some kind.

- Public Service Loan Forgiveness/Federal Student Aid (PLSF): Public Service Loan Forgiveness | Federal Student Aid
- On Oct. 6, 2021, the U.S. Department of Education announced (see link below) a change to Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program rules for a limited time because of the COVID-19 national emergency. During a temporary period, borrowers may receive credit for payments that previously did not qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) or Temporary Expanded PSLF (TEPLSF) Certification & Application.
PSLF Waiver Offers Way to Get Closer to Loan Forgiveness | Federal Student Aid
- Rules have been suspended through 10/31/2022, so application should be made as soon as possible.
- This program only requires the applicant to have a signature verifying employment from the employer.
For both programs the applicants will need to review the website and verify their own eligibility and eligibility of their employer to meet the definition required for the organization.
