Brian Vilayvanh is a dynamic nursing leader with a diverse background in emergency care, simulation-based education, and academic teaching. A registered nurse since 2017 and an EMT since 2013, Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University and completed both his Bachelor and Master of
Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with triple concentrations in Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Brian holds multiple specialty certifications in emergency, critical care, trauma, ambulatory care, nursing leadership, disaster preparedness, and public health. He is also a Licensed Paramedic and Nurse with extensive experience in both prehospital and acute care environments.

Currently, Brian serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas Woman’s University, where he teaches senior-level nursing students in clinical, skills lab, and simulation. He also works at Dallas College as both a Nursing Simulation Educator and EMS Science Instructor, where he is committed to preparing the next generation of nurses and EMS professionals through innovative, experiential learning.

Brian has been an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and Texas Nurses Association (TNA) since 2015. He is also a dedicated member of other professional organizations, including the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) since 2015 and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) since 2020. His involvement across these organizations reflects a deep commitment to lifelong learning, professional advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

As a candidate for the TNA District 4 Board of Directors, Brian brings a vision of empowerment, engagement, and equity for nurses across all settings. He is dedicated to supporting the executive leadership team in advancing TNA D4's mission through community outreach, academic partnership, professional development, and nurse advocacy. With his broad experience and passion for service, Brian is honored to contribute to shaping the future of nursing across our communities.
